Operating Modes
StarNav — Night

Uses the night sky to compute absolute heading — passive, zero-RF, with no error accumulation.

Active at night Details by request Zero RF
SolarNav — Day

Uses the sun to compute absolute heading — passive, zero-RF, with no error accumulation. Continuous correction throughout daylight hours.

Active by day Continuous correction Zero RF

VIO and map-matching run alongside as a fallback — precise, short-term positioning when celestial reference is temporarily unavailable.

Compatibility
MAVLink

Native MAVLink output. Drop-in replacement for GPS input on any compatible flight controller.

ArduPilot

Tested with ArduPilot firmware. Works with Cube Orange, Pixhawk and compatible autopilots.

PX4

Compatible with PX4 flight stack via MAVLink GPS injection interface.

UAV

Fixed-wing, multi-rotor, loitering munitions. StarNav works best in stable loiter or cruise flight.

USV

Ideal for unmanned surface vehicles over open ocean where map matching fails entirely.

UGV

Ground vehicles and autonomous rovers in GPS-jammed environments via UART / I2C.
